Welcome to T-shirt Thursday!
As the Day of the Dead and Calavera Culture spread, fandoms will collide.
Star Wars has inspired a legacy of hardcore fans for decades, and it continues to bring new fans into the fold every year. It contains a mythology told by different writers, but the imagery has been primarily controlled by only a handful or artists in connection to the George Lucas’s epicenter of conception. As ever, around the fringe, artists attempt to recreate through new combinations. The combination of Darth Vader’s iconic silhouette with the Day of the Dead inspired filigree of a sugar skull.
Is this an homage to the death of culture or simply a grab-for-cash through the incorporation of two hugely popular sources?
