Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetary

Take the whole Family to Day of the Dead

Welcome to another T-shirt Thursday, but last week’s design was so awesome that we are letting it be the feature for one more week.  Visit our Dead Deco t-shirt shop to see all our original designs.

The time is getting close.  With only 50 days left before the Days of the Dead, it’s time to start planning for your holiday celebration.  The most common request we have received is inquiries as to where to go to participate in these famed Day of the Dead public celebrations.  We will try to give you a few ideas over the next couple of weeks, but feel free to share any information you have on other events in the comments section.

First up, we have the famed Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, Calif.  This annual event has been around for over a decade and it just keeps getting better every year.  This is one of the biggest celebrations in the United States.  They have live performances, merchandise booths, food and plenty of Muerte Art and Calavera Culture.  This year is going to have more of an Aztec theme to it.  The best part is general admission is only $10.  The event runs from noon to midnight on October 27th.  Visit Ladayofthedead.com for more information.

Special thank you to Nick Unlimited from Day of the Dead Art  at Deviant Art for telling us about this event.  If you are looking for a large gallery of beautiful Day of the Dead art, there really is no finer collection than the one they have amassed in that group.  It is worth a visit.

  1. Are you coming to LA for this? I’m pretty sure this can be considered a business expense. If not, I’ll take a bunch of pictures for you.

    1. Can’t make it this year, but please take tons of pictures (and maybe an interview with any artists showing their work or selling their wares) and I’ll be happy to share it with everyone. Thanks and enjoy!
